Where blue belongs to the Jedi Guardian, green belongs to the Consular — the Order's scholars, negotiators and mystics. Yoda, Qui-Gon Jinn, Ahsoka Tano as a Padawan, and Luke Skywalker once he had built a hilt of his own. This is what green signifies and who carried it. Colour is a soundboard setting rather than a fixed property of a hilt, so any Jedi saber here can be run green.
