Description

Two independent buttons, not one button doing everything

The Xenopixel V3 Two-Button Core uses a split switch. The single round button you see is divided into two halves, and each half is wired as its own button: main and aux. Power and the core combat moves sit on main; blaster deflect, colour changing, lock-up and every settings function sit on aux. The switch also lights up in the blade's colour, so you can find it in the dark.

On top of the two buttons, this board reads motion: several functions fire from a twist, a clash, or a stab rather than a button alone. The full control set is below exactly as the manufacturer specifies it, so treat it as a reference rather than a quick-start.

Choose your kit

Core Only The core on its own — for anyone who already has a neopixel blade to run it with
Core + Neopixel Blade Both halves of the conversion in one order. Pick your blade length when you add it

This is the usual route out of a Base Lit saber. Base Lit and Neopixel are different blade formats, so changing the core is only half the job — a base lit blade will not light from a Xenopixel board, however good the board is. The kit supplies the core and a matching neopixel blade together, and both go into the hilt you already own.

Safety & charging

  • Only charge with a 5V 1A charger or lower. Higher output risks damaging the battery or the core.
  • Never attach a blade to the core while the core is outside a hilt. Doing so can short both the core and the blade, and damage caused this way is not eligible for refund or return. This matters most with the kit, where core and blade arrive together — fit the core into the hilt first, then the blade.

FAQ

Is this a neopixel or base lit core?
Neopixel. Xenopixel V3 drives a pixel-strip blade and needs one. If your saber currently runs Base Lit RGBX, you are changing both core and blade. Speak to us before ordering if you're not sure which you have.

Should I take the kit or the core on its own?
If you are converting a Base Lit saber to neopixel, take the kit — you need the blade as well as the core, and a base lit blade you already own will not work with it. Take the core on its own only if you already have a neopixel blade to hand. Either way this is a part, not a saber: it goes into a hilt you already own.

Will it fit my hilt?
It can be used in hilts whose switch window is the standard round cut-out with USBC recharge port above. The two buttons sit inside that one round housing, so there is no second hole to line up. If you are unsure, email info@padawanoutpost.com with a photo of your hilt's switch area and we will confirm before you order.

Why two buttons instead of one?
This board has a full function set - combat effects, colour changing, fonts, volume and more - and every one of those still needs a button press to trigger. Splitting the switch means power and the core combat moves live on main while blaster, colour changing and every settings function live on aux, so the two never compete for the same press. It's more buttons to learn, not fewer steps - the trade is fewer accidental triggers of the wrong thing mid-duel.

Is it installed for me?
No — this ships as a part, core only or core with a blade, for you to fit into your own hilt. Every core is tested in the UK before it leaves us.
