Start here: is Proffie the right board for you?

Three buyers land on this page, and only one of them should leave with a Proffie.

• You want to tinker. You intend to edit presets, load your own fonts and change how the board behaves. Proffie is built for you — it is open source and fully programmable, and that is the whole point of paying for it.
• You want the best-sounding saber with no homework. Buy Xenopixel instead. It runs the identical blade format and is ready out of the box. This is the right answer for most first-time buyers, and choosing Proffie by price alone is the most common regret we see.
• You are replacing or upgrading electronics. Skip the complete sabers and go to the cores and kits below.

What is actually in this collection

This page gathers everything orderable with a Proffie board, which is broader than the complete sabers alone:

• Complete sabers — combat hilts, thin-neck hilts, crossguards and dual-blade designs, each offered with a choice of board at checkout.
• Cores and kits — the Proffie V2.2 core on its own, or the kit that pairs it with a 36" Neopixel blade. See all cores.

Because the board is a checkout option rather than a separate product, the same hilt will often appear under Xenopixel too. Pick the hilt first, then the board.

Formats and boards, straight

The pairing rules are simple and they are the thing worth getting right before you spend:

• Base Lit is a blade format, lit from the hilt, and it runs the RGBx soundboard.
• Neopixel is a blade format with LEDs along the blade itself, and it runs either Xenopixel or Proffie.
• Proffie therefore never appears on a Base Lit saber, and RGBx never appears on a Neopixel one.

Fonts are common ground: both Neopixel boards read them from the microSD card, and our library is at all fonts.

Fitting, support and cover

Boards are installed and tested in the UK by our in-house technicians before they leave us, so a complete saber arrives working rather than as a project. Anything you change after that — presets, fonts, configuration — is yours to do, and our Proffie cores carry an explicit warning to charge only with a 5V 1A charger or smaller. Cover is a 12-month warranty, with after-sales through repairs@padawanoutpost.com. All lightsabers ship free to the UK, EU and US, as does anything else over £60.
