Qui Gon Jinn Lightsaber

Qui-Gon Jinn's lightsaber is the one that shows its workings — an exposed emitter and a ribbed grip, unlike anything else carried in Episode I. This is a deliberately focused collection: the Qui-Gon hilt in Base Lit and Neopixel builds, plus a collectors edition, each installed and tested by our technicians in the UK.

The master who trained Obi-Wan

Qui-Gon Jinn opens the prequel era: he takes Obi-Wan Kenobi as his apprentice, finds Anakin Skywalker on Tatooine and insists the boy be trained against the Council's judgement. He never sees where that leads — he is cut down by Darth Maul at the end of The Phantom Menace, Maul being the first Sith the Jedi had faced in a thousand years.

A hilt that shows its workings

Where most Jedi hilts hide their internals behind a smooth shroud, Qui-Gon's exposes them: a stepped emitter with visible detail beneath it, a ribbed grip and a heavier, more industrial profile than anything else on screen in Episode I. It reads as older and more improvised, which suits a Jedi who kept his own counsel. Our replica-style builds are machined in aluminium to that outline.

What happened to it after Naboo

Obi-Wan lost his own lightsaber down the shaft during the duel and finished Maul with his master's blade. He carried Qui-Gon's saber afterwards, and the hilt he eventually built for himself was a close echo of it — which is why the Episode II Kenobi saber looks so much like this one. The Obi-Wan Kenobi collection picks the story up from there.

Choosing your Qui-Gon saber

Blade format is the real choice here. Base Lit pairs with the RGBx soundboard and is the best-value way into duelling; Neopixel pairs with Xenopixel or Proffie for film-bright ignition and flash-on-clash. Colour and sound font are configured on the board, not fixed to the hilt. If you are sparring, cross-check the duelling collection and keep spare blades to hand.

Qui-Gon Jinn lightsaber FAQs

Who was Qui-Gon Jinn?

A Jedi Master in The Phantom Menace — Obi-Wan Kenobi's teacher, the Jedi who found Anakin Skywalker, and the first on-screen casualty of the Sith's return.

What colour was his blade on screen?

Green. On our sabers colour and effects are set on the soundboard rather than built into the hilt.

What happened to his lightsaber after he died?

Obi-Wan used it to defeat Darth Maul and carried it afterwards. His own Episode II hilt was built closely on his master's design.

How many Qui-Gon hilts do you stock?

This is a small, focused collection. What is listed on this page is everything we carry for the character.

Are these built for duelling?

Yes — machined aluminium hilts built for contact. Blade options are listed on each product page.

What if my lightsaber breaks?

Email repairs@padawanoutpost.com with what happened. We have in-house technicians in the UK and every saber carries a 12-month warranty.
